In 1996, Charles O’Rear was traveling to home when a sight struck his eyes and as a professional photographer he did not hesitate.
He immediately documented the image; a wholly green hill and a blue sky over the Sonoma region of California.
The original picture was purchased in 2000 by Microsoft and it was enough to turn it into the iconic image of Windows XP, the company’s long-lasting system of Bill Gates.
But since the shooting of this photo has lasted two decades and many are the enthusiasts who may want to know how it has changed.
Today, the famous hills continue to be green, but this time from the roots of the vineyard that has been planted for some time.
